Eli Orion – Singing of Horses and Violent Skies with Sophie Hiroko, Peeler, and Squinny
Sophie Hiroko is a singer/songwriter native to Duluth, MN, and a daughter of Lake Superior. She describes the genre of music she creates as “tender bubble grunge”, marrying soft vocals to a grungy backing band. Hiroko draws inspiration from themes of death, rebirth, social justice, and girlhood. Her sound can be compared to the Lilith Fair and femme grunge movements of the ‘90s. Fans of The Breeders, The Sundays, Mazzy Star, and Juliana Hatfield will love Sophie Hiroko.Eli Orion is a wild horse, a wide-angle sunrise over a field, and a deific lightning strike; “a whirlwind of impressive production, self-aware narratives, and hooks that [demand] festivals.” – Logan Lamers, fsmPeeler is a 4 piece irregular rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their debut EP, Best Kept Secret, came out May 2025. Stay ultra hype always.Squinny is a Minneapolis psych fuzz four-piece. Synth and riff-heavy, the group’s high-energy performances are home to both dancing and head-banging. Their combination of crushing rhythms and giant melodies is reminiscent of King Crimson a la Black Sabbath.
