Meet Fugu Dugu, Chicago’s Wild East Punk band — where Eastern European folklore, klezmer, Americana and punk collide.
Fresh from a breakout Square Roots Festival performance and the release of their new album Bucky Wanko and the Legend of Baba Yaga, Fugu Dugu takes Baba Yaga on the road: explosive violin, electric guitars, multilingual songs, dancing, shouting and beautiful chaos.
Following a 15-city U.S. tour and performances and collaborations with The Klezmatics, Vopli Vidopliassova and Enver İzmaylov, Fugu Dugu heads into its biggest chapter yet — from Lotus World Music & Arts Festival and this fall’s U.S./Canada tour to an Official Showcase at Folk Alliance International 2027.
Joining Fugu Dugu is Red Thread, bringing their own contemporary take on Eastern European and global folk traditions — making this a full night of music that crosses borders, generations and genres.
